“Apes Together Strong”
Movie Quote Poster
Overview
Choose a quote from one of your favorite movies, and have that quote be the basis of the poster design
I hand picked this quote because of how its used in all of the films unifying each adaptation into one. That theme gave me a prime opportunity to reference the first three movie remakes of the series as a mock screening event.
Research
After a quick sketch session I quickly realized that I wanted to try something different for this project. I pulled images directly from the films promotional materials, and in a collage like manner I combined certain cuts of the image to create the films pose symbolizing “Apes Together Strong”

Quote Logo
For the Logo of the design I picked a font that was almost identical to the font used in the franchises original logotype
Poster
The Poster design shortens the titles of the three movies into one word. “Rise of the Planet or the apes”, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”, and “War for the Planet of the Apes”

I went with green for a large majority of the poster mainly to draw from the theme of growth and evolution from the first film. It also served as an anchor to guide the readers eye through the poster.
T-Shirt
Often times, posters make for great t-shirt designs. It’s a way for the design to live on multiple different surfaces.

For the shirt design I stripped away the AMC marketing text so that this shirt could be more connected to the movie franchise without the theaters advertisement.
